Superman Explains Chiropractic!

It’s a bird…It’s a plane…It’s Superman!!!  How many of you remember Christopher Reeve?  He was the actor that played Superman in the movies years ago.  However, he had a terrible accident and was paralyzed from the neck down.  As tragic as that story is, it explains exactly what we do as “PRINCIPLED” Chiropractors.

If you recall, Christopher Reeve fell off a horse and shattered the top 2 bones in his neck (C1 and C2 AKA Atlas and Axis) and cut his spinal cord.  If you remember from his interviews (or from the picture above), he couldn’t breathe without the help of a breathing apparatus, he couldn’t digest his food without the help of a machine, he couldn’t have a bowel movement, his legs didn’t work, his arms didn’t work.  Well the question is….did he hurt his lungs?  Did he hurt his stomach, small intestine, or large intestine?  Did he hurt his bladder?  Did he hurt his legs or arms?  The answer to all these questions is NO!  What did he do?  He cut the LIFELINE between his brain and his body!  You see, your brain and your body is the BEST doctor in the world!  It’s not some medical doctor or even a Chiropractor…it’s your brain and body!  Your brain sends messages down the spinal cord (at 270 mph by the way) to every single organ, tissue, and cell and tells them how to function, heal, and repair perfectly!  Now, what if instead of shattering the top 2 bones in the spine and cutting the spinal cord, the top bone is misaligned and putting pressure on the spinal cord?  It’s the same thing, just to a lesser degree!  There is less LIFE getting from your brain to your body!  Just like stepping on a garden hose!  So now every organ, tissue, and cell below that level is affected.  Over time, you will start to see dysfunction and dis-ease.  “But wait….I don’t have any neck pain, I have digestive problems or asthma,” you might say.  Let me ask you this…how many organs, tissues, and cells do you have below the level of C1 (top bone in your neck)?  Just about ALL of them!  That’s how a misalignment in the neck can affect how even your big toe is feeling!

As Chiropractors, ALL we do is gently remove the interference between your brain and your body so that your body can function, heal, and repair at its Full Potential!  That’s ALL we do!  We work WITH the body’s own healing power, not against it!  Chiropractic was never established to treat neck or back pain.  The only reason we work on your neck and back is because that’s where you Lifeline is (the spinal cord)!  If it were on your foot…guess where we would be working?  You got it!  I hope and pray that you put more faith in the amazing healing power of the human body!  It needs no help, just no interference!

If you are currently seeing a “Principled” Chiropractor, keep going!  It’s one of the best decisions you could make for the future health of you and your family!  If you’re not seeing a Chiropractor and this made sense, schedule a check up!  Here are just a few things to look for when finding a great Chiropractor:

1)  Do They See Children? – If they truly want to help people, then they will want to help ALL people.  Children are just smaller versions of adults.  They have spinal cords and nervous systems too.  Remember, it’s not about back pain, it’s about being optimally healthy!

2)  Are They “On Purpose?” – Do they have a mission to change the community and make it healthier in a natural way?  Or do they just hook you up to every therapeutic modality under the sun to charge your insurance?  Big difference!

3)  Do They Teach Wellness Workshops? – All the “On Purpose” Chiropractors that I know teach classes on different health topics weekly.  They make these free to the public.  Attend a workshop at no expense to learn something, get a feel for the environment, and see if it is a good fit for you and your family!

Hopefully this helps you better understand what Chiropractic really is!  If you have any questions, or if I can help you find a great Chiropractor in your area, just leave a comment below and I’ll do everything I can!

Love and Health,

Dr. Chaz

As always love this! It makes so much sense. If Chiro promotes full body wellness then all areas of life have to be addressed for healing to take place.

I look forward to the next class—I know it will really hit home for me. Stress always takes it’s toll on my back.

You said to say what we are interested in you posting on….what about Statens? I know some people ‘near and dear’ to me that have taken these and I have seen a dramatic shift in their personalities. What are some agressive, natural approaches outside of the given excersice and standard multi/omegas/probiotics/D route?

    Thanks so much!!!

    • Great Question! Statin drugs are NASTY drugs! They wreak havoc in a human’s body leading to systemic dis-ease! I’m planning on writing an entire blog on this subject in the near future, so stay tuned! Thanks!

  2. I’m interested in the statin blog since I recently started taking Lipotor. I don’t like the way I feel with them but have been told with high cholesterol I need them. Are you saying taking this drug will lead to more dis-ease? My entire life has changed for the better since I started healing through chiropratic adjustments with Smith Family Chiropratic in Eatonton GA. I will continue with it forever! I have been to many chiropractors in my life and you guys are simply the best hands down. You walk the walk and are genuine in your teachings. Thanks so much!

    • Thank you so very much Louise! Congratulations on taking responsibilty for your health and your life! You’re doing GREAT! I will be publishing a blog next week pertaining to the dangers of statin drugs. Some of the statistics and stories I have read are mind-blowing! It is NOT my job to tell anyone, “Don’t take these drugs.” It IS my job to tell you the truth, to give you all the information that your MD probably didn’t tell you when he handed you a prescription, so that you can make an INFORMED decision!
